Selecting the Bank Attorneys Do I care who the bank attorneys are?

Yes. The lawyers who represent banks process hundreds of loan files. Some firms get that there are humans in the process and some firms don’t. The bank will often give a list of attorneys that you can choose from. Sometimes not. Ask your attorney if he has worked with the firm the bank is recommending and whether he has had any problems closing loans with them in the past. If there any concerns, try to get your bank to switch bank attorneys. Often, the mortgage broker will control who represents the bank. Make sure your attorney is comfortable with that selection…
